Sharia Denise Stripling (Sign Language Dance)

A native of Fort Valley, GA, Sharia became Deaf at the age of 4 (cause unknown). As she grew older, she developed a passion for dance. Sharia trained in dance under the direction of Margi Green Wright and cheered at Central high school in Macon, GA. She continued her training at Valdosta State University and became the first Deaf graduate with a BFA in the dance and theater department. A former understudy at the Sideways Contemporary Dance Company, she is currently a praise dancer and dance coach for Royal Diamonds Dance Team. Formerly a dance instructor at A Step Above Dance Company, Sharia continues to be involved in various dance performances and she is currently in cosmetology school to get her state license. Fun fact about Sharia: She loves working with youth through dance and she also loves competing in pageants! Sharia is currently 2020 Ms. Black Georgia International Ambassador and is a 2nd runner up of Ms. Black International Ambassador 2021.
